Here at Bredon we recognise the importance of every child’s individual educational journey and today we adhere to that individual approach as closely as ever. We pride ourselves on the friendly environment that prevails at the School.
With relatively small pupil numbers staff find that they can come to know all the children, not just those they teach. All our staff are expected to contribute to the ethos of Bredon, making the educational journey for each child stimulating, enjoyable, challenging and tailored.
We employ a wide range of teachers at Bredon, from NQTs to those with many years’ experience. Whilst most have post-graduate certificates we do occasionally employ staff who we then support and encourage to gain suitable teaching qualifications. In-service training and professional development are very important to the School and we follow the national guidelines for the Induction of Newly Qualified Teachers.
We employ specialist staff, known as houseparents, to create a home from home environment for boarders, but it is important that all our staff contribute to the sense of community in which both pupils and staff feel they belong.
We also have numerous roles in finance, HR, marketing, administration, maintenance, catering and housekeeping.
All staff appointed to positions at Bredon School must undergo a CRB/DBS (Criminal Records Bureau) check, in line with the requirements of the Children Act 1989. Two written references will be required and any gaps in employment records will be checked. It is also necessary for applicants to notify the Headmaster before appointment of any convictions, or other factors, that may be relevant to their employment in a school environment.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic individuals who ideally have experience of working with children with specific learning difficulties aged between 11 to 18 years. The appointments provide opportunity for development and progression.
Personnel Assistant, Part Time Maternity Cover
We are looking to appoint a passionate and innovative Personnel Assistant to provide full administrative support to the Head of Personnel. The role will be a diverse mixture of administrative tasks and the successful applicant must demonstrate their ability to be flexible and adaptable and be able to communicate with people at all levels.
The successful candidate will be able to maintain computer-based & paper based information with speed & accuracy. Experience of working in a confidential environment is paramount to this role due to the many & varied personnel matters dealt with. Familiarity with the Disclosure and Barring Service checking & procedure would be an asset.
Clerical Assistant, Term Time Only
The successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of administrative and clerical duties including reception. A working knowledge of MS Word & Excel is essential, as is a friendly efficient telephone manner and a sense of humour. Experience of School Information Management System (SIMS) would be an advantage, however, training will be provided.
Boarding House Staff
Our Boarding staff are responsible for providing a secure, homely environment in which pupils can flourish as happy individuals in a caring community. Boarding staff are required to run an effective and well-managed boarding house which establishes and perpetuates an appropriate family atmosphere.
Boarding staff liaise with and provide support to the Head of Boarding & Care in the provision of care and welfare of the pupils within the house. Boarding staff set and maintain standards of discipline; cleanliness and personal hygiene amongst the boarding pupils.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient and professional medical service to pupils, parents and the school’s teaching and support staff.
The Medical care operation consists of a team of nurses. Nurses are required to liaise with other disciplines such as Matrons; Laundry and House Staff in order to ensure a complete support service to the pupils.
Weekend Cleaners – summer holidays
