Here at Bredon we recognise the importance of every child’s individual educational journey and today we adhere to that individual approach as closely as ever. We pride ourselves on the friendly environment that prevails at the School.
With relatively small pupil numbers staff find that they can come to know all the children, not just those they teach. All our staff are expected to contribute to the ethos of Bredon, making the educational journey for each child stimulating, enjoyable, challenging and tailored.
We employ a wide range of teachers at Bredon, from NQTs to those with many years’ experience. Whilst most have post-graduate certificates we do occasionally employ staff who we then support and encourage to gain suitable teaching qualifications. In-service training and professional development are very important to the School and we follow the national guidelines for the Induction of Newly Qualified Teachers.
We employ specialist staff to create a home environment for boarders, but it is important that all our staff contribute to the sense of community in which both pupils and staff feel they belong.
All staff appointed to positions at Bredon School must undergo a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check, in line with the requirements of the Children Act 1989. Two written references will be required and any gaps in employment records will be checked. It is also necessary for applicants to notify the Headmaster before appointment of any convictions, or other factors, that may be relevant to their employment in a school environment.
