Bredon runs both a pre-school class and an informal parent & toddler group. Keep reading for more information…
Explorers Pre-School takes children from the term in which they turn 3 years old (or 2 years 9 months).
It offers a safe haven in a large rural setting where your child has the opportunity to discover and learn through exploration and play. As well as a dedicated classroom area, covered outdoor area, playground and gardens, we are uniquely placed to offer children access to a gold standard Forest School, a full working farm and a fantastic wildlife wood.

Explorer’s aims to take pre-school education back to basics and to highlight some of the fun activities that children can enjoy and which their parents often took for granted, such as den building, flying a kite and hunting for frogspawn.
Sessions are available 9.30-2.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (term-time only), with government nursery funding vouchers accepted.
A nutricious cooked lunch in the main restaurant and a Bredon school jumper can both be purchased at additional cost, although these are optional.
Our maximum number of children per session is 16 and we may operate a waiting list. Further details, including hourly costs, are available on this information sheet. If you would like to apply for a place, please complete this application form and return by post or email.
A recent audit by the Worcestershire Early Years department, using the ECERS framework – Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale – found Explorers to be “a warm, encouraging environment which will be recommended to others as a high quality environment in which to learn”.
If you would like your child to become a ‘Bredon Explorer’, and enjoy activities such as listening to stories in the woodland, collecting eggs on the farm, watering plants in the greenhouses and learning about animals and wildlife, please contact us to arrange an informal visit. Tel: 01684 293156.
Baby & Toddler group
For those who aren’t quite old enough to sign up to pre-school, Bredon has a thriving baby and toddler group which meets at the school on the first Thursday of each spring/summer month (in term time).
Dates for 2013 are:
Thursday 6th June
** Please note the meeting which was due to take place on July 4th has been cancelled due a large event taking place at the school.
Everyone is welcome to this group and it costs just £1 per child to attend – this covers refreshments and healthy snacks and fruit for the children.
Also called Explorers, the baby and toddler group is based in the school’s junior department and has the use of classrooms and a covered outdoor play area as well as gardens, sandpits, climbing frames etc… If you’d like to come along, there’s no need to register – just turn up before 9.45am. Don’t forget your wellies and waterproofs because no trip to Bredon School is complete without a visit to the farm and forest!
