| Bredon v Heathfield - U13 Rugby Spring 2009 |
|
Fortunately Bredon began to take charge, a good tackle by Ballard and an excellent drive by the forwards saw Dominic Morris score the first try for Bredon and begin a renaissance for the U13s. Minutes later captain Pearce&May side-stepped two players and threw a dummy to open a channel and put the ball down under the posts. He duly converted and was back to convert his second when, on the back of a scrum 15m from Heathfield's line, Edward Bateman ran forward, shrugged off two tackles and touched down to make the lead 19&14. The game looked as if it was wrapped up when Adams slotted in a fourth try after some good handling by the backs but a five minute lapse of concentration cost Bredon the game as the opposition ran in two converted tries to steal the match 28-24 Man of the Match must go to captain Tim Pearce-May for his excellent work rate. Match Report - Mike Carolan |

Poor tackling in the opening minute cost Bredon a 7-0 deficit as the Under 13s struggled to get a grip on the game. Bredon did attempt to get the ball wide but Heathfield's quicker centres again broke through and four missed tackles cost Bredon another seven points.
