Bredon v Winchcombe - Senior Mixed Hockey Spring 2009 |
A very good performance from the Bredon senior mixed hockey team resulted in a 6-2 win over Winchcombe. In what is always a close and hard-fought fixture, Bredon found it difficult intially to settle into their stride on the grass pitch. Some good play led to an early goal from Harry Jones which helped Bredon to gain momentum. Both Goalkeepers had to make several excellent saves to keep the ball from the back of the net. There was a constant battle to gain the upper hand, with some good play from Winchcombe's hard-hitting striker. But Harry Hodgkins' speed around the field, and his two goals, proved invaluable for Bredon. Ashely Griffin, Alice Pollard and Ed Caton also found the net.
