Children prepare to showcase their talents at a number of events during the school year, including:
There are cross-curricular elements to many of these events. For example, ahead of a recent Arts Festival on the theme of "Carnival", students learned about Latin America in geography lessons. Similarly, textiles students regularly design and make costumes. In addition to the above events, children can also develop their creativity by using facilities such as the clay (pottery) room or by adding exhibits on the sculpture trail in the school grounds.
For GCSE Art & Design, students can choose either to cover a range of disciplines, or to focus on one of the following areas: fine art, graphic design, photography, textiles or 3D design. GCSE Drama and GCSE Dance are also available as options at Key Stage 4. In the Sixth Form, AS and A level Art students also concentrate on one or more of these areas of study. A Short Course GCSE is also available for students who might struggle to cope with the demands of the full GCSE. |

Music, art and drama have developed rapidly at Bredon School in recent years. We strongly encourage all pupils to get involved.
One recent innovation at the school has been the presence of an artist-in-residence/art technician. Looking further afield, we are developing links with arts-based agencies, such as the Resource Centre in Gloucester.
