Badminton - Spring 2010

The U14 and U16 Badminton teams won their leagues in this seasons Center Parcs National Schools Badminton Championships and went through to the finals at Wycliffe College.

The U14 team beat Crypt School in the semi finals and went on to play Sir Thomas Rich's team in the final. Zac Mercer, Callum Short, Sam Livingston and Charles Adams all played really well and had some very close games but unfortunately lost. They had to be satisfied with being second best in Gloucestershire.

The U16s beat Crypt School in their semi-final and had to play Farmors School in the final. This was a really exciting match. Matt Hodson and Ashley Griffin lost their singles game but James Dunn and Jake Davenport won their doubles followed by Matt Hodson and Jake Davenport winning their game. The score was then 2-2 so James Dunn and Ashley Griffin had to play the final game with everything resting on them. It was very close with Farmors in the lead to start but Bredon pulled back and won 21 points to 20. What a result.

The U16s were presented with a trophy crowning them as Gloucestershire U16 Champions. They now progress to the South West Regional Finals to be played at Exeter University. Well played and good luck.
