Open Morning: Opportunity to meet the next Headmaster

ImageVisitors to Bredon School’s Summer Term Open Morning on Saturday 22 May will have the chance to meet the next Headmaster.

John Hewitt (pictured) takes up his post at the independent school near Tewkesbury in September this year, but is making a special visit to greet parents and potential pupils at the event.

Current Principal, David Keyte, who retires this summer after ten years at the school, said: “We’re delighted that John is able to be with us and I know he is looking forward to meeting families. Unlike many other independent schools during this economic recession, we have maintained our pupil numbers and we are expecting a good turn-out again for this Open Morning.”

Mr Hewitt, a former Ireland rugby international, is currently Deputy Head at Churcher’s College, an 11-18 co-educational day school in Hampshire, which is part of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC).

Bredon School, close to the village of Bushley, is a 7-18 co-educational school near Tewkesbury welcoming both day pupils and boarders. It offers an unusually wide curriculum, including a range of vocational qualifications as well as GCSEs and A levels. The school’s picturesque 84-acre grounds include excellent sports facilities and a working farm.

Anyone wishing to attend the Open Morning is requested to contact Doug Sharp, Admissions & Development Manager, or Sheila Denman in advance on 01684 293156 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
