| Junior Cricket v Heathfield School - Summer 2010 |
|
The U13/14 team played against Heathfield School on a hot sunny afternoon. Captain Sam Livingstone won the toss and decided to open the batting. He looked like he was beginning to form a partnership with Will Clarke but was caught and bowled for 19. A long line of partners came and went for Clarke, Jono Jones getting the next highest score with a single, a six and a four before being bowled for 11. Finally the last batsman Tom Forrester came out and in an effort to reach a team total of 100 runs, Clarke was bowled with a personal score of 40 and a team innings of 90 runs. Bredon intimidated Heathfield's batsmen with some tight fielding and accurate bowling. Wickets came for Adams, Evans-Fisher and Vanhoa, with Ewan Dron taking two in his first over, Mercer taking five wickets and Adams taking a catch from the last batsman to finish the game and leave Heathfield 20 runs short of Bredon's total. Man of the match: Will Clarke, who stayed in for 19 overs: a rare achievement!Match report by Mike Carolan |
