Athletics Round-up and Sports Day - Summer 2008

Seventeen-year-old Matt Griffin continued his excellent winterform in cross-country into the summer track season. He won the 3,000 metres Worcestershire County Trials in a time of 10 minutes dead and qualified for the AESA (All England Schools’ Association) National Finals in Harrogate. Matt was also the only athlete to break a record at the School’s own Sports Day. Joe Lovett, 16, won the bronze medal in the 100m hurdles in the Worcestershire District Sports, while Rosie Stephenson, 15, took bronze in the shot putt at the same event.

In a rain-filled summer, Bredon was again lucky with the weather on Sports Day,which was dry, if somewhat windy. The
children joined in with great enthusiasm both in the track and field events, particularly the tug of war.
