Volunteering is all about making a difference to other people’s lives. Bredon’s pupils have often been surprised at how rewarding this part of the scheme can be, and how much they get back from it.
This covers a wide range of activities, from conservation to youth work, to fundraising for charity, or caring for animals. Participants are able to choose any activity in which they serve others or do something useful for the community without getting paid.
At Bredon, there is a wealth of opportunity for boarding or day pupils to volunteer – helping in the Junior Department or on the farm. Members of staff provide advice and support for pupils to identify volunteering opportunities away from the School and completing the necessary documentation.
At bronze level, a voluntary activity has to be pursued for a minimum of three months; at silver for six months, and at gold for 12 months.
