Lost 21 – 5
The match started well with Bredon stealing the Bowbrook possession from the first centre pass. They moved the ball quickly to the shooters, but unfortunately Megan Bates missed the shot. The Bredon team maintained possession for five minutes and scored their first goal. The Bowbrook team suddenly woke up with 3 minutes to go and moved the ball quickly to their shooters to score five goals in quick succession.
In the second quarter, after a change of playing positions the Bredon team settled; intercepted lots of passes and scored two more goals. The score at half time was 13-3 to Bowbrook.
In the third quarter, Abi Sylvester-Kilroy made a lot of well-timed interceptions that disrupted the opponent’s flow of play. Some accurate link ups and good use of the bounce pass around the tall opposition helped to keep Bredon in the game.
With good accuracy from Anna Forrester in the shooting circle, Bredon scored another goal. Unfortunately the final quarter was stopped abruptly due to a very painful injury to Megan.
Player of the match – Abi Sylvester-Kilroy for her excellent defensive interceptions.
