The senior mixed hockey team were honoured to play a match against previous students, the Old Bredonians.

Starting with an Old Bredonian centre and knowing that we had not played hockey for a while, the Bredon team kept their heads up and got themselves into an attacking position.

Good attacking work from Humaid Al Hameli, George Dixon and Tom Gourdie kept the ball in the opposition’s half and came close to scoring several times but could not capitalise. Just before half time, Humaid scored the only goal of the whole match.

The goal was a wake up call for the old Bredonians. They kept the pressure on the Bredon mid-field and defence. The mid-field players worked hard to try to keep possession but the old Bredonians were too strong!

They got into the shooting circle and had a few shots at goal but Bredon goalie Ivo made many fantastic saves so they did not score. A mistake from the Bredon defence gave away a short corner, our defence reacted well and secured the ball before making a pass to the mid-field and the attackers tried to score another goal but the effort that they put in was not fruitful.
