Care of Farm Animals
There are a variety of areas of study which potentially will include: Farm Animals; Assist with Care of Animals; Assist with Movement of Animals; Assist with Preparing and Maintaining Livestock Accommodation; Horticulture; Developing Skills for Maintaining Plants; Introduction to Pruning Trees/Shrubs; Introduction to Ground Preparation; Planting and Staking a Tree. A combination of units will be selected from the above.
How is the course structured and graded?
Each individual unit has a credit value and you will need to achieve a minimum of seven credits. The units have values of 1-4 and so a personalised combination of these will be required, depending upon the needs and wishes of the group. The course is passed when all the required work is completed and it is awarded at Entry 3.
Will this course be suitable for me?
There will be some writing, which mostly includes describing practical tasks. Most will be recorded as actions done and witnessed, recorded or photographed but you will have to write about what steps you carried out either by hand or using a computer.
What could this course lead to?
The next step would be further study at Level 1 or Level 2, where study would be more detailed and in depth and the demands of written and independent work become higher.
