Climbing
Climbing is a very popular activity at Bredon - not least due to our very own climbing wall.
Our pupils enjoy regular climbing lessons with qualified climbing instructors and also have the chance to climb at Redpoint Climbing Centre in nearby Worcester. Our school climbing team regularly compete in external competitions.
Many of our pupils find climbing an extremely rewarding sport, as it challenges them to compete against their personal best, and conquer their fears. Pupils at Bredon School have regular opportunities to climb on our school climbing wall during Outdoor Education lessons, as well as on our Extra-Curricular days.
Our pupils learn valuable teamwork skills during their climbing sessions, working together to ensure that all safety equipment is prepared and supporting each other as they climb. Clear communication skills are also put to the test as pupils will help each other to find the best routes whilst climbing.
Inter-School Climbing Competition
In December 2019, Bredon School hosted a national competition in partnership with the Independent Schools Association and Redpoint Climbing Centre, with 136 pupil participants from 28 different schools took part. Our school climbing team took part, and had the opportunity to climb alongside GB team climbers.
