These qualifications provide a broad introduction to the Performing Arts sector and give you the opportunity to demonstrate increased skill levels. You will develop the necessary transferable and sector skills to progress more quickly. The qualifications prepare you for progression to Level 2 BTECs or other study programmes.
How is the course structured and graded?
In this course, you will study three core units; ‘Introduction to the Performing Arts’, ‘Taking Part in a Performance’, and ‘Starting to Develop Performance Skills’. The qualification gained will depend upon the completion of the core units in addition to a selection of other optional units.
Will this course be suitable for me?
To be successful on this course, for musicians it is helpful if you are learning at least one musical instrument at Grade 2 level and are able to identify notes on the treble clef stave. For actors you must be confident performing in front of a live audience and prepared to learn lines.
What could this course lead to?
On completion of this course you will have the correct knowledge and experience to undertake a Level 2 course in Performing Arts or specialise in a GCSE in your chosen field. This course will suitable if you wish to learn more about the Performing Arts Industry.
