Wainwright Lectures

The Wainwright Lectures are a series of talks which form an integral part of the enrichment programme run for our Sixth Form students.

Every Friday during term time we welcome external speakers (who may include alumni and parents) who talk on a wide range of subjects including career choices, apprenticeships, working in the voluntary sector, GAP year options and many other topics besides.

In recent lectures, our Sixth Form students have gained an insight into: careers in the Armed Forces; working for the emergency services; knowledge of successful management; working in the live events industry; making the right lifestyle choices; hearing first hand of the experiences of a GB athlete; learned how to use a defibrillator; heard how music can be used to break down barriers; what a healthy relationship looks like; to name but a few.

The Wainwright Lectures aim to broaden our students’ understanding of the wider world and are an extremely important contribution to their ongoing preparation for life following their studies at Bredon School.
