At Bredon, every student’s wellbeing comes first. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and valued, which is why pastoral care and safeguarding are at the heart of everything we do.
Our Approach
Safeguarding at Bredon is not just about policies – it’s about culture.
We:
- Provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive
- Train all staff and volunteers to recognise and respond to concerns
- Promote kindness, respect and openness across the whole community
- Carry out rigorous checks to ensure all adults working with students are suitable
- Regularly audit and review our systems to maintain the highest standards
Above all, our aim is simple: that every student at Bredon feels safe, cared for and ready to flourish — in the classroom and beyond.
This approach has been recognised nationally:
- 2024 – Winners of the SACPA Outstanding Commitment to Safeguarding Award
- 2023 – Re-accredited with the Leaders in Safeguarding Award
- 2022 – Finalists in the SACPA Safeguarding Initiative Award for building a strong, community-wide safeguarding culture
These honours reflect the dedication of our safeguarding team and the high level of training across all staff to ensure every student is safe, supported and able to thrive.
