Where Potential Meets Opportunity

Founded in 1962 by Lt-Col Sharp, Bredon School has always carried a strong sense of purpose shaped by his military background. He believed in building resilience, confidence and independence in young people – values that continue to underpin daily life at the school. His vision was to create an environment where every child could discover their strengths and grow in self-belief, whatever challenges they faced.

Today, Bredon is an independent day and boarding school for students aged 8 to 18. We specialise in dyslexia-friendly education, with a structured and supportive approach that recognises individual learning differences and needs. Our nurturing environment and strong pastoral care ensure every student feels known and supported.

Bredon School supports military families and our aim is to ensure the affordability of our fees. If you have access to standard CEA funding or have been granted SENA funding, please speak with our friendly admissions team to discuss how we are able to assist at each Key Stage of your child’s education.

Personalised Learning That Opens Doors

At Bredon, we offer four distinct educational pathways:

  • Academic: traditional qualifications including GCSEs and A Levels
  • Creative: subjects like art, music, drama and design
  • Vocational: hands-on, industry-relevant qualifications including BTECs
  • Vocational PLUS: Sixth Form offer in Leiths Education, Land-Based Studies and Physical Education.

This broad curriculum allows each student to pursue their strengths and future ambitions. In 2025, this range of provision was praised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate as a ‘significant strength’.

With class sizes averaging at just 10, we place dyslexia-friendly teaching at the heart of every lesson, giving each student tailored support, close attention and a clear understanding of how they learn best in school.

Opportunities Beyond the Classroom

From clay pigeon shooting and kayaking to horse riding and animal care on our working School Farm, life at Bredon extends well beyond the classroom. Our students are encouraged to try new things, get involved and discover interests they might not have considered before, gaining confidence through doing as much as learning.

Throughout the school year, a wide range of events, activities and trips adds to that experience, giving students plenty of opportunities to take part, challenge themselves and build independence in a supportive environment.

SCHOOL LIFE

Continuing a Legacy of Leadership

The Combined Cadet Force has been a vital part of life at Bredon since the school was founded. Through a mix of field exercises, leadership tasks and outdoor challenges, our cadets develop teamwork, resilience and a strong sense of responsibility. It’s practical, hands-on and often pushes students outside their comfort zone – in the best way!

More than anything, the CCF reflects the values that run through our school. Leadership, self-discipline and mutual respect aren’t just ideas here, they’re part of everyday life at Bredon, both in and out of the classroom.
