Sports & Activities

Sport and activities form a vital part of Bredon life and the development of our well-rounded pupils. With onsite climbing facilities, a clay pigeon shooting ground, onsite access to the River Severn together with extensive pitches, a floodlit astro pitch and fully equipped sports hall, we are proud of the variety of sports on offer at Bredon School.

All pupils take part in timetabled Physical Education and games lessons enabling them to develop their key movement, technical and tactical skills whilst learning how to exercise safely and effectively in order to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.

Through our comprehensive sports programme we aim to instill an ethos that values teamwork and excellence in personal endeavour providing opportunities for all, from competitive matches and inter-house competitions achieved through the School’s house system.

Identifying and developing sporting talent, we nurture all our pupils enabling them to reach county, regional and national level in various sports.

Alongside our sporting provision we offer a full and diverse co-curricular programme taught by area specialists. Pupils are encouraged to get involved regardless of experience or ability, to try something new and extend their skills within a supportive environment. Through participation in a range of activities not only do pupils acquire new skills but also develop leadership skills and personal qualities enabling them to face the wider world with confidence.

We are the TES Boarding School of the Year 2025!

We’re thrilled to share that Bredon School has been named Boarding School of the Year 2025 at the prestigious TES Schools Awards!

This national recognition is a powerful testament to the heart and soul of our school – our dedicated boarding team, our exceptional teaching and support staff and our tireless facilities and catering teams. Every one of them plays a role in creating a nurturing and inclusive boarding environment for our students.

At Bredon, boarding is more than just a place to stay – it’s a place where young people with dyslexia are understood, empowered and supported to thrive. From the structure of daily routines to the beautifully refurbished boarding rooms designed with dyslexia in mind, every detail is centred around the student experience.

We’re so proud to see our warm, specialist and student-led approach recognised on a national stage.
