Beyond the Sixth Form Classroom

Life in Bredon’s Sixth Form is about more than study – it’s about preparing for life after school. Alongside their chosen courses, students step into leadership roles, enjoy unique opportunities and gain the independence and confidence they’ll need for the future.

Leadership & Enrichment

Sixth Form students are role models across the school, supporting younger years through mentoring, clubs and Outdoor Education. Many take on prefect or captain positions, building responsibility and teamwork.

Outdoor Education, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the Combined Cadet Force remain central, with older students often leading expeditions or taking on command roles. Many complete the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, including the challenging Residential section. Others pursue vocational qualifications on the school farm, gaining hands-on skills in agriculture and animal care.

The Wainwright Sessions

A highlight of Sixth Form life is our weekly Wainwright Sessions – inspiring talks delivered by alumni, parents and industry professionals. Recent sessions have explored careers in the Armed Forces, creative industries, medicine and social enterprise, as well as extraordinary personal stories.

These sessions help students explore career pathways, ask meaningful questions and build valuable connections. Together with our broader careers programme, they offer practical guidance and inspiration, helping each student envision their next steps with confidence.

Preparing for Life After Bredon

By the time they leave, Sixth Formers are equipped not only with academic qualifications but also with resilience, independence and a sense of direction. Whether their path leads to university, apprenticeships, service, creative pursuits or entrepreneurship, Bredon students leave ready to thrive in whatever comes next.
