Forces Families

Where Potential Meets Opportunity

Founded in 1962 by Lt-Col Sharp, Bredon School proudly honours its military heritage. Our values of resilience, adaptability and self-belief continue to shape the education and care we provide to every student.

We’re a mainstream independent day and boarding school, specialising in dyslexia-friendly education for students aged 8 to 18. With a calm, nurturing environment and strong pastoral foundations, Bredon is a place where students are truly known, supported and encouraged to thrive.

Understanding the Needs of Forces Families

We recognise that military life comes with frequent change – and that continuity and stability are vital for your child’s wellbeing and academic success.

Whether you’re posted in the UK or overseas, our boarding provision offers structure, consistency and exceptional care. Our experienced boarding team is solely focused on the wellbeing of students, providing a safe and supportive home from home.

Personalised Learning That Opens Doors

At Bredon, we offer three distinct educational pathways:

  • Academic: traditional qualifications including GCSEs and A Levels
  • Creative: subjects like art, music, drama and design
  • Vocational: hands-on, industry-relevant qualifications including BTECs

This broad curriculum allows each student to pursue their strengths and future ambitions. In 2025, this range of provision was praised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate as a ‘significant strength’.

With class sizes averaging just 12, every child benefits from tailored teaching, close attention and a deep understanding of how they learn best.

A Life Beyond the Classroom

From clay pigeon shooting and kayaking, to horse racing and animal care on our working School Farm, students are encouraged to explore, discover and build confidence through real-world learning experiences.

Our 84-acre campus offers space to grow – in every sense.

Continuing a Legacy of Leadership

The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) remains central to life at Bredon. Established by our founder, Lt-Col Sharp, the CCF teaches teamwork, leadership and discipline through challenge, service and adventure.

These values are not just taught at Bredon – they’re lived.

A Place to Grow, Belong and Become

Whether your child is joining us as a  boarding student or day student, they’ll be welcomed into a school community that feels like family. At Bredon, individual strengths are celebrated, confidence is nurtured and every student is empowered to succeed – wherever life may take them next.
