The Seacole Standard

Bredon is proud to have achieved the Seacole Standard for Excellence in Health and Medical Provision, awarded by HIEDA in partnership with the Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA). This recognises the high standard of care and support available to all students across the school.

Outstanding Medical Care

Our experienced nurse supports students with both everyday health needs and more complex conditions. Individual care plans are put in place where necessary in partnership with families and medical professionals, ensuring all of our students are well looked after.

The Medical Centre includes a clinic room, therapy room, and rest areas for unwell students. The team manages first aid, accidents and emergencies, as well as local GP visits for boarders and the coordination of vaccinations, including the annual flu programme.

A Safe Space for Wellbeing

The Medical Centre also provides a calm, safe space where students can take time out or talk things through. Whether it’s anxiety, friendships or general wellbeing, students know they can drop in and be supported.

With an open-door approach, our mental health nurse offers both informal support and more structured sessions when needed, working closely with the wider pastoral and safeguarding teams.

Our Specialist Support

Our team includes a registered general nurse and a registered mental health nurse, allowing us to support a wide range of needs, from exam stress and low mood to bereavement and school avoidance.

We work closely with families and external services where needed and provide sessions for students and parents to promote a healthy, informed approach to wellbeing across the whole school.
