CReSTeD – Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic STUDENTS
Our universal provision is underpinned by The Bredon Lesson, a consistent whole-school approach to teaching and learning that supports every student to engage, achieve and grow in confidence.
The Bredon Lesson focuses on:
- • Clear Expectations and Guidance: Students are supported through predictable lesson structures, clear instructions and shared success criteria.
- • Thinking Strategies: Teaching encourages students to develop problem-solving skills, independence and reflective thinking.
- • Self-Awareness and Confidence: Supportive feedback and opportunities for reflection help students recognise their progress and build resilience.
- • Guided Practice: Teachers model learning explicitly and provide scaffolded support to ensure students feel secure before working independently.
- • Strategic Delivery: Lessons are carefully planned to reduce cognitive load, reinforce key knowledge and support memory and understanding.
- • Technology to Enhance Learning: Assistive technology is embedded throughout the school to promote independence, organisation and accessibility for all learners.
This shared approach creates calm, supportive and engaging classrooms where students can thrive.
