Sixth Form

The Sixth Form at Bredon ensures that every pupil has the opportunity to achieve their true potential, equipped with the necessary qualifications and skills that will prepare them for a successful future. Pupils choose from a wide variety of subjects and qualifications within our four educational pathways, with the opportunity to resit GCSEs.

Academically, Bredon offers a wide and exciting curriculum with a range of traditional A Levels, BTEC and City & Guilds courses. In order to help bring a focus to the next steps, we offer four educational pathways, Academic, Creative, Skills Based and Vocational.  Subjects are grouped together and a selection can be made across all pathways to suit your individual strengths and interests. In addition to their academic studies, all Sixth Form pupils have the option to take a selection of enhancement programmes, designed to help pupils develop their personal and social skills. Programmes include the highly respected Duke of Edinburgh Award, community service and School Council.

Our Sixth Form pupils develop confidence in leadership and teamwork through our endless activities and opportunities, enjoying extra privileges such as access to a separate activity and events programme as well as a dedicated Sixth Form Centre. Actively encouraged to take more responsibility for themselves, their performance and wellbeing prepares them for life beyond the school gates.

Entrance to particular qualifications in Sixth Form are grade dependent and predicted grades will be requested. Places are then offered based upon pupils’ ambitions and their final academic results.

We are the TES Boarding School of the Year 2025!

We’re thrilled to share that Bredon School has been named Boarding School of the Year 2025 at the prestigious TES Schools Awards!

This national recognition is a powerful testament to the heart and soul of our school – our dedicated boarding team, our exceptional teaching and support staff and our tireless facilities and catering teams. Every one of them plays a role in creating a nurturing and inclusive boarding environment for our students.

At Bredon, boarding is more than just a place to stay – it’s a place where young people with dyslexia are understood, empowered and supported to thrive. From the structure of daily routines to the beautifully refurbished boarding rooms designed with dyslexia in mind, every detail is centred around the student experience.

We’re so proud to see our warm, specialist and student-led approach recognised on a national stage.
