Pastoral Care

Bredon School offers a hugely supportive, caring environment conveyed through small class sizes, remarkable academic and pastoral staff within a stunning, countryside setting.

Pupils are known by name not only by the teaching and support staff but also by one another ensuring a mutually supportive environment that allows our pupils to grow, develop and thrive at Bredon School. There are many vertical friendships formed across year groups.

Pastoral care at Bredon is delivered through our House system. Dedicated to the delivery of outstanding pastoral care be that in the classroom or boarding houses, pupils each have a dedicated tutor with whom they meet on a regular basis either in tutor groups or on an individual basis. Tutors report into our Heads of House who are responsible for the wellbeing and development of each pupil throughout the school. Each Head of House also acts as one of the school’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSL), ensuring the pastoral, welfare and wellbeing are closely monitored.

We are the TES Boarding School of the Year 2025!

We’re thrilled to share that Bredon School has been named Boarding School of the Year 2025 at the prestigious TES Schools Awards!

This national recognition is a powerful testament to the heart and soul of our school – our dedicated boarding team, our exceptional teaching and support staff and our tireless facilities and catering teams. Every one of them plays a role in creating a nurturing and inclusive boarding environment for our students.

At Bredon, boarding is more than just a place to stay – it’s a place where young people with dyslexia are understood, empowered and supported to thrive. From the structure of daily routines to the beautifully refurbished boarding rooms designed with dyslexia in mind, every detail is centred around the student experience.

We’re so proud to see our warm, specialist and student-led approach recognised on a national stage.
