Mr Rob Starr

Rob joined the Royal Engineers a few days after his 16th birthday and went on to serve 14 years in the British Army. His role took him all over the world from the Falklands to Iraq and five years living in Germany. Leaving the Army Rob used his many learnt skills to transition into education and became a behaviour manager in a state school. The knowledge and experience gained within the role and promotions to a head of house, deputy designated safeguarding lead allowed Rob to gain years of experience in supporting young people. Having empathy, understanding and warmth towards students and their parents is what Rob has found paramount.

Rob, along with Nicola (Wife) Joined Bredon school in 2015 after 11 years at his previous school. Rob and Nicola started off as junior boys house parents. Over the last 8 years Rob has been promoted within and is now into his 3rd year of Director of Boarding here at Bredon and he is passionate about giving every child the foundation to achieve both academically but just as importantly socially. Having a holistic approach and giving all our boarders the key skills to flourish is paramount. He fulfils this role with vigour, understanding and a well organised approach with communication to the boarders, his peers and parents high on his agenda.

Socially for Rob is all about walking Ronnie our dog and enjoying the world on our holidays with Nicola.
