Eloise Bates

Student at Bredon School 2016 – 2022

Former Head Girl and now building a career in the world of Heavy Haulage Transport.

After attending Bredon School from 2016 to 2022, where she proudly served as Head Girl during the 2021–22 academic year, Eloise has gone on to pursue a career in the specialist world of heavy haulage transport. Starting as an apprentice escort driver, she has progressed to become a steersman and logistics planner, working across both the planning and hands-on sides of the industry.

Working in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Eloise has embraced the challenges of her career and continues to build on her experience. No two working days are the same, with her role ranging from planning loads and escorts in the office to working hands-on in the field, moving and steering large loads.

Alongside her career, Eloise is also a mum to her young daughter and two stepsons, while helping to run a family business. Looking back on her time at Bredon, she credits the school with helping her develop the discipline and resilience she uses every day. She also learned to recognise her ADHD as a strength rather than a barrier, giving her the confidence to approach challenges in her own way.

Eloise’s journey is a fantastic example of how the skills, confidence and resilience developed at Bredon can help students pursue their ambitions, whatever career path they choose.
