Bredon School students are celebrating today after another year of excellent A Level, BTEC and Level 3 examination results, with a 100% pass rate achieved again for the School.

82% of pupils have achieved grades A*-C at A Level, with nearly half (47%) of students gaining an A*-B grade. The pass rate for BTECs and vocational courses is also 100%, with over a third (36%) awarded Distinction* or Distinction.

Mr Koen Claeys, Headteacher at Bredon School said: “We are absolutely delighted with this year’s results. Our Upper Sixth students have performed to their personal best and have achieved individual outcomes to be proud of in their A Level and BTEC examinations. These excellent results are a fitting testament to both the students’ hard work and the quality of teaching at Bredon School.”

Earlier in the year (January 2019), Bredon School was ranked number one out of 4434 schools and colleges in England for ‘value added’ for students aged 16-18 years. Bredon’s top ranking is based on Department for Education figures which show how much progress A Level students at Bredon made between the end of Key Stage 4 and the end of their Sixth Form studies, compared to similar students across England.

Mr Claeys continued: “As a school specialising in teaching children with dyslexia and additional learning needs, we know how much progress a child can make with their studies after they join us. It has been amazing to watch these students not only work hard to achieve these results but to see them enjoying and contributing fully to school life. Each student has shown commitment and progress in their learning journey since joining Bredon School and they should be very proud of their results today. The whole Bredon School community wishes them every success as they embark on the next stage of their lives, whether this is at university, in an apprenticeship scheme or starting out in the workplace.”
