Bredon School is organising an exciting climbing competition for schools in the region at the Redpoint Climbing Centre in Worcester on Friday 5thOctober. The event is free to enter and is open to all enthusiastic climbers from Years 10, 11, 12 and 13.
Andrew Lister, Climbing instructor at Bredon School comments: “We’re really excited about this new climbing event next month. Climbing is very popular at Bredon School and we are looking forward to hosting this event for other schools in the region. The event takes place on 5th October and there is still time for schools to enter.”
The Redpoint Climbing Centre in Worcester boasts a spectacular 1500 square metres of climbing and bouldering walls. Bredon School’s climbing competition has been designed to be fun and challenging and will include bouldering, speed and top rope competitions, culminating in a prize giving at the end of the day. Schools can enter up to six participants and the best four scores will make up the team’s total score. Prizes will be given for both individual and team successes.
The Climbing Challenge is the first of its kind in the region and reflects the growing popularity of climbing, which is set to make its Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games in 2020. Organised by Bredon School, the competition is sponsored by Redpoint Climbing Centre, DMM and Mammut.
