Robert Collcott

Student at Bredon from 2004 – 2011

2nd Line IT Engineer at Jisc

After joining Bredon School in 2004, Robert quickly discovered a passion for Information Technology. Although naturally shy when he first arrived, Bredon’s supportive and individual approach helped him grow in confidence, both academically and socially. Robert also enjoyed spending time on the school farm, helping with gardening projects and preparing plants for the annual May Day Fete—experiences that remain some of his fondest memories of school.

Inspired to pursue his passion for IT, Robert went on to achieve top grades at South Worcestershire College before graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Computing from Buckinghamshire New University. Since then, he has built a successful career in IT support and systems engineering, working with organisations including Zebra Technologies, the NHS and Jisc. His career has seen him contribute to major technology projects, gain industry certifications and play a role in developing national-level qualifications.

Looking back on his time at Bredon, Robert credits the school’s encouragement and belief in every student with giving him the confidence to believe in himself and pursue his ambitions. The support he received helped lay the foundations for a rewarding career in technology, making him a wonderful example of how confidence, determination and the right guidance can lead to lasting success.
